Da anni impegnato, anche con la sua musica, sul fronte democratico, il frontman dei Rem, Michael Stipe, ha detto di essere pronto a lasciare il paese nel caso in cui gli americani eleggano il repubblicano John McCain. Nel caso in cui il veterano McCain diventasse presidente "Beh, dovrei trasferirmi in Inghilterra", ha detto con un sorriso il musicista statunitense, 48 anni, parlando in esclusiva a Sky News in vista del concerto al Twickenham stadium di Londra. October 03 "Citazioni"Recensione by Trimalchione Tokio Hotel - Scream Non sapendo bene che fare, ieri pomeriggio ho avuto l'infelice idea di guardare MTV e ho trovato quattro ragazzini che suonavano (?) qualcosa di più plasticoso della parrucca di Britney Spears. Erano ovviamente i Tokio Hotel, nuovissima ancorchè inutilissima band tedesca. La loro esibizione live mi ha permesso di apprezzare il loro nuovo lavoro, intitolato "Scream" (forse perchè è la reazione della gente davanti alla copertina...). La prima cosa che si nota è sicuramente il cantante, Bill Kaulitz, che, nonostante tutti i suoi sforzi per cercare di dimostrare il contrario, è un maschietto, per altro senza voce, che live riesce a farsi sovrastare persino dal basso, tutt'altro che pulsante, del suo amico Georg Listing. Inoltre, il cantante foltocrinito e meschato è autore di un trucco davvero intelligente: quando la nota della canzone è troppo alta, evidentemente ben consapevole dei suoi limiti, decide di lasciar cantare il pubblico! L'album, nonostante i miracolosi aiuti dello studio, è orribile, per cui non provate nemmeno a scaricarlo, perdereste solo tempo. Definito dalla stessa band un emo rock influenzato da Motley Crue ( per il trucco pesante?), AC/DC (per questa bestemmia meriterebbero la fustigazione pubblica...) e Linkin Park (forse gli unici ad essere davvero citati dalla musica dei quattro...) il loro sound si contraddistingue per evidente patina di melassa che ogni tanto viene alternata a momenti un po' più decisi, subito vanificati dalla voce melliflua dell'ermafrodito urlante. Simbolo della paraculaggine della band sono due canzoni, diverse tra loro, ma semplicemente perchè due facce diverse della medesima medaglia, "Monsoon" e "Break Away". La prima è il singolone scassamaroni che tanto ci fa divertire almeno cinque volte al giorno per radio, caratterizzato da una ritmica piatta e ripetitiva, una chitarra in sottofondo che aumenta (poco, per la verità) di intensità in vista del ritornello. Proprio il refrain è la parte più orripilante della canzone, perchè laddove ci si aspetterebbe l'acuto (o perlomeno qualcosa di simile... che diamine, se non cerca di urlare adesso che ha 18 anni a 40 cosa farà?) da parte del cantante ecco che la voce sale di mezza ottava e poi torna indietro spaurita. "Break Away" si articola invece su alternanza di momenti di vuoto, con solo voce e basso, ad altri di pieno con voce e chitarra che ripete un loop insistito seguita, sulle medesime note, dal basso, ma tutto ciò non mi è nuovo, chissà come mai...Ah, forse perchè "Black Dog" dei Led Zeppelin ed "Alive" dei Pearl Jam sono costruite allo stesso modo? In un periodo in cui la musica dei gruppi nuovi sta calando le braghe i quattro tedescotti decidono di seguirli e finire in fretta nel dimenticatoio. Che tristezza... Commenti

"Ma rock tipo Clash o tipo Nirvana?" Mi guarda con occhi sbalorditi e mi dice: "Guarda i tuoi gruppetti non li conosco, ma posso assicurarti che loro sono meglio...". Naturalmente, la canzone l'ho ascoltata per tre secondi circa prima mandare mia cugina a quel paese... >

- kosmogabri --> < Odiosissimi, finti, costruiti a tavolino, un tipico prodotto tedesco precisino e patinato... insomma quanto di più falso. Ma ai due gemellini Kaulitz - cioè il cantante in stile eroe manga asessuato e il chitarrista babacool con dreadlocks - bisogna concedere un innato savoir faire nelle pubbliche relazioni, fan paura nel come sanno comportarsi in ogni occasione (gli altri due, drummer e basso sono come inesistenti). Li han tirati su proprio bene come prafi soltatini teteski. E tutti, management e loro stessi c'han fatto dei grandi soldi, in Cermania.>
